Stay Cool: 4 Peppermint Cocktails for Summer

Peppermint isn't just for Christmas. Cold, crisp and just a little herbal, POLAR peppermint ice liqueur is one of the most underrated additions to a summer drinks trolley — it adds a cooling edge to gin, cuts through fruit and citrus, and turns even a simple highball into something a bit more interesting.

Here are four ways to drink POLAR this summer, from a garden spritz to a fruity smash.

POLAR Classic Spritz

A refreshing serve perfect in the sunshine.

  • 25ml POLAR
  • 25ml gin (Tanqueray or similar)
  • 20ml elderflower liqueur
  • Prosecco
  • Soda water

Add cubed ice to a long glass with the POLAR, gin and elderflower liqueur. Stir, then top with soda water and prosecco. Garnish with mint and peeled cucumber.

Strawberry Smash

Perfect for long summer days in the garden.

  • 60ml POLAR
  • 30ml lemon juice
  • 15ml sugar syrup
  • Soda water
  • Strawberries

Muddle a handful of strawberries in a glass, then add the POLAR, lemon juice and sugar syrup. Fill with crushed ice and top with soda water. Garnish with mint or a strawberry.

Arctic Pearl

Refreshing citrus garden flavours.

  • 50ml gin (a garden or cucumber gin, like Hendrick's, works best)
  • 25ml POLAR
  • 20ml lime juice
  • 10ml gomme

Serve chilled in a frozen glass with spiralled cucumber, or over a large ice cube in a short glass. For something a little more celebratory, top with champagne.

Hive Mind

Refreshing, sweet and zesty — sunshine in a glass.

  • 50ml gin
  • 20ml POLAR
  • 20ml lemon juice
  • 20ml British honey syrup

Add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake, then strain into a chilled glass.

However you're serving it, POLAR is built to keep things cool.
